The Wesley Archives & Heritage Committee was set up in 1998 after an amendment to the Book of Discipline of the Methodist Church in Singapore was made, that required all Methodist Churches in Singapore to each appoint an Archivist and a Committee to preserve and maintain materials pertaining to their own churches.
With this in mind, the Committee defined a three-fold mission:
- To retain and preserve official records, historical materials and artefacts of Wesley Methodist Church;
- To promote awareness of the origins and activities of the Church; and
- To motivate members of the congregation and community to learn more about Methodism in general.
