The ageing population in Singapore means that each person is either currently a caregiver or will be a caregiver in the future. Caring for loved ones who are dying from advanced illness is demanding especially during COVID times where changing rules and regulations that keep us safe can exacerbate feelings of isolation, loneliness and stress for caregivers.

This talk will share with the audience what caregivers can expect as our loved ones weaken from progressive disease, how caregivers can care for the dying person and themselves and the community resources available to help with care.

Date: Sat, 6 Nov 2021
Time: 10.00 - 11.45am
Mode: via Zoom
Closing date: 5 Nov

All are welcome! Invite friends and loved ones!

SPEAKER: Dr Grace Pang. MB. ChB Ph.D.
My journey in palliative medicine started before 2000 when I became a layman volunteer on the weekends at Assisi Hospice. This volunteer stint was the catalyst for a life in palliative medicine covering clinical, research and administrative roles in the National Cancer Centre Singapore, LKC School of Medicine and the Agency for Integrated Care. I have come full circle in returning to clinical work in palliative medicine as supporting families and patients as they near the end of life remains the most enriching and fulfilling part of palliative medicine. I am currently a locum physician for Assisi Hospice Homecare and St Joseph’s Home.
