Real-World Discipleship

02-12-2021 8:00 pm - 16-12-2021 9:30 pm
Online Session via ZOOM (Meeting ID will be sent)

SESSION 1 – “Distinctly Different”
The biggest challenge facing the Church today is the problem of “un-discipled disciples”. This session seeks to challenge the Church to become intentional in our disciple-making. We will present some key convictions that drive intentional disciple-making churches and provide a working model to outline the process of disciple-making.

SESSION 2 – “Faith@Home”
This session brings disciple-making into the context of the home. Discipleship must begin at home. We will explore Psalm 127 and Psalm 128 and look at the four stages of family life and how we are to navigate through these four seasons.

SESSION 3 – “Faith@Work”
This final session brings disciple-making into the arena of our workplaces. How can the disciple become an effective witness in the marketplace? How can he/she become a shining light to model what discipleship looks like? This session provides some practical handles on becoming an effective signpost in the marketplace that can point people to a better Kingdom and the best King!

Dates: 2, 9, 16 Dec 2021 (Thurs)
Time: 8.00-9.30pm

Registration will be closed when Zoom capacity has reached its maximum.

The course moves through the biblical story from creation in Genesis to the New Jerusalem in Revelation. There are theme words and verses, key characters, and topics that give participants a clear perspective of the sequence of biblical events that took place.

DISCIPLE Bible Study classes are conducted weekly in small groups. Each session begins with a short DVD presentation, followed by discussions between participants, and also their group facilitator. As part of the course, participants receive a study manual and commit to a daily personal Bible reading (minimum 30mins daily) and journaling.

Pearline Teng, DISCIPLE 1
Despite being a Christian for a couple of years, I have never completed reading the Bible from beginning to end. I wanted to grow deeper in the Word of God and signing up for DISCIPLE 1 has certainly helped me gain more knowledge about God’s Word. I have also
gained a lot through learning from the experiences and sharing of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. What a wonderful way to spend my Monday evenings, growing closer to God with fellow believers!

Ng Huey Bian, DISCIPLE 2
I joined the DISCIPLE series with the intention of growing in the Lord and am grateful that I have drawn nearer to God through the lessons and sharings in class. The special focus on spiritual disciplines in D2 has also encouraged me to be not just ‘a hearer’ but also ‘a
doer’ of God’s word. I have registered for D3 next year and am definitely looking forward to continue to grow in the Lord.
