Bible Reading Drive 2025
Dear brothers and sisters-in-Christ, a warm welcome to the Wesley Bible Reading Drive (BRD) 2025! Wesley BRD was officially launched in 2016 to encourage all of us to read God’s Word every day as a spiritual discipline. BRD is part of one of the five faith environments (Significant Circumstances, Scriptural Obedience, Spiritual Relationships, Spiritual Disciplines and Sacrificial Service or C.O.R.D.S.) in which we can experience spiritual growth in our faith.
BRD will follow our church’s theme of Intentional Discipleship 2022-2025. As such we will be reading through the whole Bible over 4 years, with a good mix of Old Testament and New Testament books of different genres each year. For 2025, we will be reading 16 books, including a repeat of the book of Acts, John and Revelation, which are in line with our church theme for the year, Intentional Discipleship in Society. There will also be a daily reading of Psalms. By the end of 2025, we will complete the 3rd time that we have read the whole Bible since we started our BRD. Praise God for His guidance for these 10 years!
In our daily reading of scriptures, we are encouraged to journal our reflections following the Read, Observe, Apply, Do (R.O.A.D.) format. Details of this format can be found in the next segment. We are also encouraged to close our time of reflections with a short prayer. The goal of BRD is for each of us to live out the Word of God in our lives and be transformed into the image of Christ. Our church leaders will also be posting their personal reflections following the daily BRD (except Sunday) in Wesley Telegram. On Sundays, we are encouraged to read a Psalm and also to reflect on the sermon preached. Do join our Wesley Telegram if you have not already done so.
Jesus says in John 3:63, “the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life” (NASB). Let us grow in our spiritual formation together through the reading, reflecting and application of God’s Word in our lives.
